Pierre Yann Major
Cluster Leader, Blue Maritime Cluster
Technology, maritime industry, research, marine industries, engineering.
Solid technological background combined with extensive experience in research, software, and business development. Educated as a civil engineer in electrical engineering and information technology from ETH Zurich. Additionally holds a PhD in engineering from NTNU in Ålesund. Doctorate focused among other things on the use of virtual prototypes and digital twins for the planning of advanced offshore maritime operations. Combines technological understanding with a strategic business perspective, at the intersection of technology, marine industries, and sustainable development.
Juuni Elisabeth Vatne
Head of Marketing and Competence, Defence Coordinator, Blue Maritime Cluster
Marketing, strategic communication, defense, project management, maritime industry.
Long experience in strategic communication and brand building from the maritime industry. Working on cluster development through strategic initiatives that enhance collaboration, innovation, and competitiveness. Responsible for interaction between the maritime industry and the defense sector. Education in communication.
Knut Tore Aurdal
Head of Projects and Innovation, Blue Maritime Cluster
Maritime industry, ship design, shipbuilding, engineering management, project management.
Has nearly 15 years of experience in the maritime industry, in ship design and shipbuilding. Education from NTNU in Trondheim, with the title of Master of Science in Marine Technology (MSc). Bachelor's degree in product development and design from NTNU Ålesund and a master's degree in marine technology from NTNU in Trondheim. Has extensive experience from VARD with engineering management as the primary area of expertise. Has led large and complex projects within all of the cluster's core areas: offshore, fisheries, and cruise.
