Our hypothesis is that there is a large, untapped potential in new industrial collaborations. This applies in the form of technology development across the value chain, better utilization of shared resources, and in the form of industrial symbioses where other companies' waste and side streams are utilized. We want to conduct a survey of the potential for such collaborations in an exemplary manner that can provide subsequent collaborative projects in the next phase.
The project is divided into four parts:
Literature search and mapping of good projects in other industries. Good projects from other areas and industries must be surveyed to see if anything is transferable to our cluster.
Mapping the companies' thoughts on industrial cooperation. This will be done both quantitatively and qualitatively based on in-depth interviews and surveys with companies in different parts of the maritime value chain.
Mapping of potential new business models. From this year's cluster meeting, there are several inputs regarding the need to look at alternative business models for the maritime industry. The task will collect work done on alternative maritime business models and further evaluate the possibility of introducing new models in connection with tasks 2 and 4.
Defining potential industrial collaborations. Based on tasks 1 to 4, the project will point to possible new industrial collaborations and what should be put in place if such collaborations are to be successful.
