Offshore wind: how can Nord Vestlandet keep its position in world leader in offshore wind?

The challenge we need your input on:

Norway has committed to 30 GW of offshore wind by 2040. Europe needs roughly 350 GW by 2050 to reach net zero. To make this industrially and economically viable, the cost position of the offshore wind value chain must be cut by up to 50% over the next 10 years.

The Ålesund workshop is one of four regional workshops (Stord, Trondheim/Verdal, Ålesund, Haugesund) feeding the national position paper. Ålesund owns the maritime piece:

  • Offshore operations and installation

  • Operation, access and maintenance (O&M)

  • Other maritime services

Why you should come?

  • Impact: your input reaches the Minister of Energy, Parliament and Arendalsuka — not a shelf.

  • Network: the room will be Nord Vestlandets maritime offshore-wind ecosystem in one place.

  • Positioning: shape the national narrative on what the maritime cluster can deliver before the political conversation is framed without us.

  • Honest invitation: What is on offer is the chance to be heard at the right moment, by the right people.
